Moms are The Best!


I think I appreciate my mom better now that I am a mom myself.

mmm.. No, I know this is a fact and not just one of this ‘I think…” statements! Love you Mom! {{{hugs}}

Mom’s day is here. And I thought it is this Sunday :) Thankfully I googled this before I sent of this card to Amma (Mum in tamil)

What went in!

  • The Circle flower stamp is from Birds Cards.  Bird has some very nice such stamps now & very cute gingham papers I am itching to try.
  • Sentiment is computer generated. I put the flower digi stamp & the sentiment together using word.
  • Flowers coloured with regular Nataraj colour pencils :) And my favourite sparkle – Fevicryl shimmer 3-D.
  • The green paper was embossed using the Swiss dots Cuttle bug folder.  Just the folder :) I put the paper in & press the folder down using the handle of a scissors.

PS: I find it pretty daunting to use layouts from challenges. Do you?
PPS: Do these photo paper finish effect of the cards (the white border) look good or bad?

    Very nice card! Love the glitter effect on the flowers... I'e also been saving that stamp because it is sooo pretty and adds a simple elegance to the card. Love the way you added the sentiment to it. Sure mom will appreciate it very much.

    Funny thing how our kids make us appreciate our moms so much! I am with you on this..

When ICR has a Rain theme, I was looking around for some ideas and this is the stamp I landed on and fell in love with. Ujjwal recently sourced this for me. And I am glad I am able to use this in another ICR Challenge – the Challenge #10 . Here is the sketch grabbed from the ICR Challenge Pad I wanted to CASify this sketch – inspired by non other than Simplicity . And this is what I came up with. Isn’t the sentiment super sweet? :) How to: Stamp the image in black – Hero arts black ink. Image used is Ippity’s Rain or Shine Made two masks: one for the legs and also one mask to mimic grass Taped the masks down and stamped the grass repeatedly using Ippity A Bit of Burlap Stamped the sentiment which came with the image. Stamped the image’s umbrella on a piece of felt, cut it out, mounted it and popped a white pearl on it. Felt and pearl from itsybitsy . Mini book – A giveaway (Edited for a simpler giveaway)

Hello everybody. Today is my birthday. Thanks for wishing me :D Though I am a year older – not on the right side of older :D.. I want to thank the Lord for all the blessings in my life. My birthday gift this year is my new baby girl – Arpana Sarah – such a blessing indeed. I can’t ask for anything more – a great guy, two gorgeous daughters, a loving family, a great job and to top this a great hobby! Phew! Thank you Lord for this. Amen. I have a mini book to share with you. Was a lot of fun to make this one. There are thirteen pages inside – ideal for a mini Scrap for a year – especially for baby’s first year. One for the birth and one each for each month. It measures 4inx4in. Photos on the left and a white space on the left for journaling.   Outside has a couple of stickers and reads BLISSFUL :) Closes with a red ribbon.
