Oh so blue!

After those stunning yellows, here is something blue.

Every wondered about the term “feel so blue”? Here is an article about the colours. Quoting from this article – “The proximity of dark blue to black on the colour scale, and its historical grouping with dark colours, may have contributed to blue’s links to depression and to fear – to have the blues, or to feel blue

I listened to a lot of Jim Reeves when I was growing up – dad loves him. I still do listen to him. This song Blue Christmas is what I remember when I see this blue bird .. ah.. well.. I am rambling :)

The little bird & “you” is from Papertrey ink’s Little Bitty Bird.  The “MISS” in the sentiment is from a dollar alphabet set. Added a tiny bit of glitter to the leaves and the bitty bird.

Here is another variation – same stamp set but with the bigger bird and a bigger sentiment. The sentiment is hand stamped with that dollar alphabet.

The sentiment must be stamped slightly closer together vertically – isn’t it? The inside reads “miss you much”. Cute Sentiment huh? :)

Entering this for these challenges

  1. Pile it on #12 – Up in the Air
  2. stampingwithdragon – things with wings

Yellow Papertrey and a wee bit rambling!!

Did you read all that gossip on Papertrey ink? We don’t have to worry too much about all that isn’t it ;)

I love Papertrey ink – there is soo much one can do with one set of stamps. So many possibilities.. endless like Nicole says. I am just happy with the few sets I can afford from them and leave the gossip to the ladies there in the thick of things :D What say! :))))

This is NOT the rambling I’ve mentioned in the title.. it comes at the end of the post <grin>

Well, I got a few Papertrey ink sets recently and here are a a couple of cards.

This one is from the Flower Fusion #10. When I saw this card by Danielle, I knew I had to have it. Her card is soo colourful, isn’t it :)

Love how the flowers can mean a sunflower or any other colourful flower by changing the spots ;) The sentiment is from another PTI set – Little Bitty Bird

And this one is from the Fruit  Fusion Cherries stamp set. The polka dots are from the Flower Fusion set I mentioned above.. clever huh!!?!?! ;) I love the internet :D

The sentiment could have been better placed.. but this ain’t too bad ;)

And now onto my rambling…

I had this one lovely sentiment set – Hero Arts Everyday Sayings and I was happy. But with these new sets I’ve got I have more sentiments I can choose from and for a Gemini like me (not that I believe in it.. but sounds cool right) – this means I am always confused about which sentiment to use!!

I never thought I will have to do this – but I am contemplating stamping everything I have so that I have a catalogue of some kind.. And mind you, I just have some 5 PTI sets, 2 Hero Arts and some assorted funny Hobby Lobby stamps.. What will I do if I have so many stamps like Susan has? I think I will quit my day job and worry about which sentiment to use!!

Thanks for dropping by :)

God bless you.

Bring on the yellow!

I have two cards  to share with you. Hopefully you won’t see yellow everywhere after this :)
These two cards are meant to be as per the faux Letterpress technique – but I think it is meant to be the other way round.. as in the white here must be yellow and the yellow white – YKWIM! But I love these cards.. super simple :)

I inked the surface of the Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers – the surface where the design is a valley and not raised. Place your card within the folder and run through your machine. Voila – a very stylish card.. all I need to do is stamp a sentiment and pop it on this card as a banner – like in this card
Here is another one using a similar technique – using the Blooms Dots folder.

Would you like a tutorial for this easy peasy technique? I can post a few pictures :)
Let me know.
Tomorrow I have some interesting PTI cards to share and my thoughts on the problems which come with too many stamps. I would love to hear from you about that too :)
Thanks for stopping by!
God bless you.

JC
