AWIC Edition 1: Day 6

Day 6! :) Phew! Am I thrilled or what! :D

DSC01142

My first monochromatic card.

 DSC01146

Just a hint of glitter on the flowers. Both the flowers and sentiment are digital – from my stash. The flower digi stamp is from papergardenprojects – called Spring Blooms. Sentiment computer generated – you can download it here.

I was VERY tempted to pop in a button or some colour somewhere – but I resisted, only just adding a tiny amount of bling.

AWIC Edition 1: Day 5

I’ve seen these beautiful hand made flowers on blogosphere – especially likes these one: Juhi’s and Creation-Faeries . Have always wanted to make one but never have before today.

DSC01137

The card stock is more Kraft than Gray :) But Gray is what my camera thinks it is.

Scallop Nestabilities layered and scrunched to make the flowers

A few pearls and my silver gel pen finishes up the card

I am thrilled with the results :)

Thanks for the lovely wishes for my little K. Here she is – our little flower :)
DSC01055
Ah! we’ve survived! :)) Day 4! I feel so good!
Ok I was tempted to put away one card for tommo :D But .. lol.. here they are.
This is one is just a random one – a couple of CB die cuts, CB Swiss dots emboss and Fiskars punch and a random layout

And this one – I LOVE!!

Can you see the Glitter Strip on which the flowers are resting?  I read about it on Paperlicious about Nichole Heady’s Make it Monday - Glitter Strips with Scor Tape.
DSC01124
When embossing, I left a bit of empty strip on which I laid down a double sided tape I got in Venus Traders (Pune) and sprinkled Hero Arts’ Prisma Glitter on it and wow.. it is beautiful. I am soo pleased with the result. Do try this and let me know!

Well, today is my little girl's second birthday and this is what we gave her.

The right stickers and the card came together easily. All stickers from Venus Traders, Pune. My lil girl loves animals, Elle the elephant and butterfly butterfly and ducks :)

AWIC – Edition 1

Here is therapy for everyone who wants to kick start their mojo – kick being is the operative word here and therapy mean over-dosing any one particular remedy! :)

So here we have AWIC – A Week In Cardsthe idea is to make and post a card the same day for one whole week. Phew! That is my addiction program, girls!

With 6 more minutes go, here I post my first card :) If my midnight photography is miserable, I’ll re-post the pics alone tomorrow.

When I saw this post on Paperlicious, I’ve always wanted to case it. That’s the main reason I bought this five petal punch.

DSC01002

This card’s layout is inspired by this week’s Card  Patterns Sketch 104.

If you are wondering about the similarities, please look closely :o) The layout is REALLY inspired by this sketch.

A 2x3 layout, ribbon and two accents. :))

5 Petal Punch from itsybitsy, butterfly punch from Venus traders, Pune. Paper from a DCWV stack I got years back from Joann.

The pics are soo dull – I think I HAVE to post the pictures again tomorrow.

I am glad I hopped in to this challenge. The next edition starts March 8th. Email  me at mail.craftyjc(at)gmail.com if you want to play along. The only rule is “One Card a Day for One Week” and you must make an post the card the same day :)

Thanks for visiting.

One Flower, Three flutter-bys and a Million Polka dots

Here is a card I made recently – which I sent to Karuna – she is my Secret Sweetheart :) (a fun game we played in India amongst fellow crafters)

DSC00947

Did you know that while stamping large images – especially backgrounds – standing on the stamp after inking and placing it  on the card provides an even impression? I think I read this on Savitri’s blog. It actually worked!

The felt flower was meant to be a die cut – it started as a cuttlebug die cut – but ended as hand cute :D I couldn’t get a nice cut out.

DSC00949

The butterflies are from a tiny punch and the flourish is a Sizzix Sizzlit die - Decorative Swirls Set. The Sizzix Outlet has great deals throughout the year. Sizzlits works with cuttlebugs too.

DSC00952

The “hi” sentiment is from a Stencil which kids use. I think they are good to use for short sentiments. Thought I will pass on that idea to you :)

PS: Coming up with titles for the blog post is no easy :D

Thanks for dropping by.

Cheers,

Jaya
