Color me Rainbow

Hello there!! A quick post with a sweet card. The same darling couple you saw here  (this one was a finalist in Itsy Bitsy challenge, yay!) and here  (as an outline only) make yet another appearance :) Stamped a white panel with the hearts border in rainbow colours, stamped the couple directly on the panel, and then stamped the couple in another card stock, which I then water coloured. I hand cut the couple image and mounted it on the panel.. the whole thing was then mounted on the base card stock. Colurful huh??!? :) What went in Stamps   Sarah Kay stamp - Laura and Henri PaperTrey Ink: Simple Valentine Memento Inks, Inktense water color pencils and some of K's watercolors too And I need to tell you about this foam tape I discovered recently - I am sure it's been around :) The 3M Scotch Foam tape is FABULOUS!!! Try it out Thanks for stopping by :) Cheers JC

Thank you, teachers

Image
It is end of the academic and it’s time to show them our gratitude. K is completing her first year in formal schooling. I can’t help but look back in wonder and thanks to God for all the blessings. One of the important and most special blessings being the teachers in K’s ‘Lower K. G.’ (as the children call it). K’s class teachers have been so kind to the children, and us parents too. So, I made these to show our gratitude to the teachers. A small thank you. Everything you see here comes from one stamp set - Clearly Besotted Stamps Teacher’s Pet. Love. First up a set of three cards The first card I made is inspired by the sentiment in the stamp set. I made a faux blackboard by stamping the sentiment in white and clear embossing it on black paper. I then framed this using Sizzix Instant Frames (as always everything is linked at the bottom of the post). The card’s background is using the Pencil line image which comes along with this stamp set in three different colours. I had g...

It was V-day. And I had a gift for the husband. And a card. A really simple card. But I told him everything that needs to be said. I die cut the globe from Chipboard, stuck a heart topped with Glossy Accents and stamped the sentiment. And that's it :) What went in Die:  Sizzix  Vintage Fan & Globe Set Sizzix - Lovely Doilies . I have a bunch of these red hearts left over from the doilies. Stamp: Papertrey Ink - Masculine Motifs Chipboard from itsybitsy Entering this to Clean and Simple on Sunday - Challenge #27 - Masculine Card Craft Your Passion - #202 - Black White Red & Craft  craftybloggersnetwork - all about boys melonheadsfriends - for boys Needless to say, the husband was super pleased with the Kindle Paperwhite (from Amazon.in) and the card too. I am pleased as punch with the execution. So up my alley.. and I know for sure the husband would read the sentiment too :p Thanks for stopping by :) Cheers Jaya ...

A Special Birthday Flip Card

Image
I’d posted about Jaanu’s birthday card which I’d made for my friend T. It was Jaanu’s 10th birthday and T wanted to give her little girl something very special. I have two girls myself, and when she asked me to make this it was a ‘fast-forward’ for me – you see my elder daughter is going to become 5 in a week. So, well, I poured my soul while making this one :) I kept imagining K becoming 10 very soon.. after all I don’t know where the last 5 years went!! Well, here are the rest of the pages. In all I’d made 5 pages, 2 pages to wish her the best birthday, and the other three was one page each from the dad, mum and bro. I hear the young little girl loved it :) I am thankful to God I could add a little more happiness on her special day. Cover Page This first page is to reflect everything about this 10 yo – the dress form to reflect the little diva, the mirror like frame for the fairy tale Snow White ‘Mirror Mirror on the wall.. who is the prettiest of all!’, the crown for the dad’s ...

Bloom where you're planted - repeatedly!

Image
I recently made a multi page card for a lovely girl's 10th birthday. And this is one page of that standing card (thanks Tejal for the tute ). The sentiment, I hope, will gently encourage the little girl to bloom to her best .. bloom where God has planted her.. so that she'll be a blessing to everyone. Happy Birthday Jaanu. What went in - Stamps - Papertrey sets Fabriano Card Stock - white Inks - Memento - they are almost the only ones I own Can you suggest an alternate card stock?? Fabriano seems to absorb too much ink :( Entering this to: Simplicity challenge -  Can You Repeat That?  (The flowers and butterflies and even the journaling lines were stamped - repeatedly :)) Keep It Simple Challenge - Tropical  (I hope the colors are ok) Muse Challenge - #55  {the color stamped lower page and the Black stamped Sentiment) Thanks for stopping by :) And remember to bloom where you're planted Cheers JC

Love in a Sizzix Jar

Image
Well, while it may not be truly possible to put love in a jar,  chocolates come real close. Here is a pretty Candy Jar - in this case a Chocolate Jar with this easy to make Sizzix die. Love in a Sizzix Candy Jar Die cut the Sizzix Candy Jar with some pretty patterned Card Stock  The Jar has windows to "see- through" what is inside.  I made a tiny bag with acetate/OHP sheets with the hearts. The Hearts are from one the Lovely Doilies Sizzix Thinlits. So, it is just like a shaker card Sealed the other window with another piece of acetate A little shaker window Tip: Easiest is to tape runners with the windows. Don't use glue - even those Ranger Glossy Accents. Trust me :))) The Paper Heart Popsicle was die cut from cardstock and chipboard and ice-cream stick I added the sentiment "For You" and those cute Cherries to the heart and also a piece of Magnet to so that you can pick this Popsicle up and use it on your fridge to hold a photo mayb...
