A shaped Mini Birthday Book for a sweet girl

Image
A friend’s little girl turned 11. Not a little girl anymore. Not a grown up one either. Here is a mini book I made for her. I used the Flower shaped album by Sizzix . These make the process super easy. I die cut chipboard twice, and then Fabriano card stock 6 pieces and DCWV paper 12 in number. Remember that half of these will have to but upside down – to help cover both sides. Then I went to town with stamping. Oh stamping.. stamping.. How I doeth love thee. If I were Shakespeare, probably that might have been my sonnet :) Now this page. This is top most favourite page. Ever. The stamps are from this HUGE Waltzing Mouse stamp set called Pint size Heroines. Tell her how so very precious she is. How much you love her. These are three tags, for the mum, dad and bro to write notes for her. The left side stamps & dies are from Sizzix. The right tags die cut using Sizzix dies. And stamps are from Hero Arts. This is another awesome Papertrey Ink stamp set. Both pages re...

Catchy Design Challenge CSCC#3: Masculine Cards: Guest Design

Image
Heylo all :) When Deepti from Catchy Designs asked me to Guest Design in her latest challenge, I was beyond thrilled :) I love her work and love her stamping style. You all know how partial I am to stamping.. And I love her doodling, she isn’t afraid of free hand drawing and experimenting. Fabulous combination I say :) The theme for this challenge is Masculine and only cards are allowed. And here is the yummmmmy inspiration. Gorgeous huh :) And here is my take on it. My dad’s birthday was around the corner and I made this for him. All supplies linked below. I was inspired about a lot of things in the inspiration picture – apart from the obvious of course. :D The red and black panel on the left reflects the brick wall, the clock representing a Birthday and the same colour as the hunk’s golden skin, the green backdrop is from the grass and don’t miss the three birds from the lamp posts. And yes, I had to make a one layered card… but the collage-ing is a new one to me. I am so g...

A Special Birthday Flip Card

Image
I’d posted about Jaanu’s birthday card which I’d made for my friend T. It was Jaanu’s 10th birthday and T wanted to give her little girl something very special. I have two girls myself, and when she asked me to make this it was a ‘fast-forward’ for me – you see my elder daughter is going to become 5 in a week. So, well, I poured my soul while making this one :) I kept imagining K becoming 10 very soon.. after all I don’t know where the last 5 years went!! Well, here are the rest of the pages. In all I’d made 5 pages, 2 pages to wish her the best birthday, and the other three was one page each from the dad, mum and bro. I hear the young little girl loved it :) I am thankful to God I could add a little more happiness on her special day. Cover Page This first page is to reflect everything about this 10 yo – the dress form to reflect the little diva, the mirror like frame for the fairy tale Snow White ‘Mirror Mirror on the wall.. who is the prettiest of all!’, the crown for the dad’s ...

Happy Birthday Blooms

Image
This morning K woke up and told me it was her favourite teacher's birthday and she wanted to make a card. Out came a couple of Sizzix dies and a few papers and we whipped up this card in minutes. K insisted on doing circles with the Sizzix - meaning turning the handles - and she could with a little bit of assistance from me. She could easily stick the papers and die cuts together and this card came together quickly and easily. What went in Sizzix - Card Phrases Set #3 Sizzix - Card, Ribbon Insert Cheers Sizzix - Bigz Die - Branch w/Leaves & Flower Fabriani Card stock ItsyBitsy - Half pearls sticker My little K loves to colour images I stamp for her and the die cuts are quite easy for her too too. Do you craft with your little ones? What do they like to do? Entering this to Crafters Corner - Bingo : Center down: Pearls, Patterned Paper, Diecuts Would love to hear from you. And thanks for stopping by. Much appreciated :) Cheers, JC PS: The Banner ...

Roses are red too!

Hello and Happy New Year. May God bless you with a healthy, happy New Year filled with His peace. My first post of the year. Thanks for the applause :) I’d embossed some white Fabriano card stocks with gorgeous Sizzix folders and left them on my messy table for inspiration. And this is what I came up with. I love the strip of Scalloped border from Sizzix – Border and Hydrangeas . These work so well with Scrapbook layouts as well as cards. Don’t you think? I’m stamping a sentiment directly on the Patterned Paper – it took away the stress of adding another strip of paper. NOTE: If you want to emboss – always stamp and then emboss :) Once I photographed this, I wanted to see what a bit more of green can do to this and this is where I arrived at Though the green strip adds a bit more colour, I think right now I prefer the first version. What’s your take? What went in Sizzix die cut border -  Border and Hydrangeas Sizzix embossing folder - Psychedelic Dreams Set by Rac...

Introducing K-Series

Image
My little girl loves to colour.. when she is happy the colours are all rainbows and when she is in one those toddler-moods everything is coloured black! :) So to encourage her and use her lovely colouring, I am introducing a series of cards with the focal element done up by her but, of course, assembled by me.. Here are a couple of cards And a close up of the colouring. She chose the colours all by herself.. and I used those colours for the background stamping. And here is another one Hopes this helps you to have some crafty fun with your children too.. What went in: Papertrey Ink – Itty Bitty Bird for the background curls Hero Arts Cup cake (thanks Tejal for letting me use it) and Sentiment And gorgeous Memento Dew Drop inks – I love them – they make stamping a breeze!! Cheers, Jaya

Inspired By: Day 6

Yesterday’s search yielded this card as well over at Simplicity . But I resisted making them both :)) Now, I am SO glad I didn’t make them both :) I loved the colour combination and a touch of glitter – so cased both. Since the cake itself had a sentiment I had to add that bow. Maybe I’ll try one without a bow. Hero arts prisma glitter. Yumm. Thanks for dropping by. Really appreciate you coming over :) Cheers, JC

Flower Power and Ms. Bee

Image
Sometimes its just a couple of cute sticker is all it takes to whip up a cute card. Here is one witnessing this truth! :) Moral of the story – keep buying stickers from wherever you find some. And these days, you find them everywhere. Stitches  added with a silver Uno pen from Venus Traders. I need to find out shops in Bangalore now! And yes, that’s the only Happy Birthday stamp that I have :) I need one where the sentiment is in one single line. Any suggestions? Did I tell you I am shifting to Bangalore? Mid next month yes! Mid October.. so that is actually, well, mid-this-month! Am I going to miss Pune – a BIG YES! sighh! Cheers, Jaya
